Underwriting Update Since the Washington Cares Fund has generated a large influx of LTC business, we wanted to provide you with an update on our processing times and expectations. Normally, most cases have an underwriting decision reached within 45 to 60 days. Due to the increase of Washington State applications, you may instead see underwriting decisions take 55 to 70 days. There are some underwriting decisions that may exceed the 70-day timeframe because of factors beyond our control, such as difficulty obtaining medical records, or in rare instances, applicants who are unwilling to conduct an interview. Massachusetts Forms Update Recently the commonwealth (state) of Massachusetts revised their consumer Medicare guide, A Massachusetts Consumer’s Guide to Medicare. Additionally, there is also an update to the title of the Medigap guide, 2021 Choosing a Medigap Policy: A Guide to Health Insurance for People with Medicare. Both of these are required to be left with applicants prior to completing a Massachusetts application. In order to reflect the change, the MassHealth (Medicaid) Exemptions Acknowledgement Form NLTC-ACK-MA, which needs to be submitted with every Massachusetts application, has been updated.
