Washington State backdating clarification To clarify the last communication’s statement concerning backdating, any Washington State application received between November 1, 2021 and November 30, 2021, will not have the option to backdate. Washington State applications received on or after December 1, 2021, will once again have the option to backdate. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Washington State New Business Beginning November 1, 2021, NGL will begin accepting new applications from Washington State. Due to the demand for LTC planning the Washington Cares Fund continues to generate, NGL has made the decision to place the following temporary minimums on all new Washington State applications: $3,000 annual lifetime premium – Modal equivalents – $1,560 semiannual, $810 quarterly, $263 monthly $6,000 annual 10-Year premium – Modal equivalents – $3,120 semiannual, $1,620 quarterly, $525 monthly $30,000 single premium Joint applications are subject to these minimums per application, not per applicant. Washington State Underwriting Update We have now completed the underwriting for over two-thirds of the Washington State business that has been submitted. The remaining applications require obtaining necessary sets of medical records to reach an underwriting decision. There are a small number of cases that have not yet completed telephone interviews or an age required LTC Exam. We do expect all of those to be done within the next two weeks. Normally, most cases have an underwriting decision reached within 45 to 60 days. Due to the increase of Washington State applications, you may instead see underwriting decisions take 55 to 70 days.
