“Views How to position critical illness in the sales process”

“Views How to position critical illness in the sales process,” by Aaron Anthony, Employee Benefit Adviser “The vast majority of employee benefit professionals have long seen voluntary worksite benefits as a singularly purposed solution designed to defray the first-dollar expenses associated with core medical deductibles, co-pays, experimental treatment and non-medical everyday living expenses associated with illnesses and injuries. AIG: Hurricane Irma: Update September 12, 2017

Hurricane Irma: Update September 12, 2017 There have been widespread reports of wind damage, flooding, and power outages in several Southeast states due to the impact of Hurricane Irma. As of Tuesday morning (9/12), the storm had been downgraded to a tropical depression and was expected to continue to lose strength as it moved northward. Critical Advantage Insurance Lump Sum Payment

The lump sum benefit in the Critical Advantage policy can be used to fill gaps in your client’s current coverage. Most health coverage issued through employers does not cover all the costs associated with a critical illness and disability insurance is meant to provide people with ongoing income replacement when they are unable to work due to illness or injury. Since critical advantage pays a lump sum payment upon diagnosis, it can be used to fill gaps like specialized treatments not included in standard health insurance, elimination periods, reduced income and tax implications. We have a great option to fill that need. Cancer & Heart Attack/Stroke policies are a perfect complement to existing health or DI coverage. And since they pay cash benefits upon diagnosis, they’re ideal for clients who are concerned about meeting deductible requirements or waiting for DI coverage to begin. Likewise, those immediate funds can be helpful for Med supp clients, who may have more comprehensive medical coverage but
