Gerber Life Discontinuing Medicare Supplement New Business Sales

July 03, 2019 Closing New Business Effective August 1, 2019 Gerber Life Insurance Company will no longer accept new business applications for Medicare supplement sales. Inforce Business There is no impact to existing business. Gerber Life will continue to service all existing Medicare supplement policies. Agent Contracting New producer contracts will no longer be accepted for Medicare supplements as of July 3, 2019. Medicare supplement contracts and appointments will be terminated. Oklahoma Governor had issued an Executive Order 2019-19 which has been amended declaring a disaster emergency for all seventy-seven (77) Oklahoma counties due to severe weather and flooding. Arkansas Residents Impacted By Severe Weather & Flooding

Arkansas Governor had issued an Executive Order 19-05 declaring a state of emergency due to severe weather and flooding. The Arkansas Department of Insurance issued a Bulletin 4-2019, dated May 30, 2019, to comply with the Executive Order. The Bulletin, in part states the following: Requires insurance companies to grant an extension of the grace period for sixty days beginning on May 21, 2019 and continuing until July 20, 2019 for policyholders residing within the impacted areas. This includes a moratorium on policy cancellations due to non-payment of premium. The moratorium is effective May 21, 2019 through July 20, 2019.
