Sentinel: New Commission Payout Schedule

Sentinel Security Life is proud to announce that commissions on New Business will be paid daily starting April 3, 2017. This change will ensure that you, our agents, will be paid faster. Policies must be issued with premium received in order to be in the daily payout. Renewal commissions will continue to be paid on a weekly basis. Even though new commissions will occur daily, it still may take 2-3 business days for funds to be deposited into your bank account from the date the policy is issued. If you have any questions, please call Licensing/Commissions at 1-800-247-1423.   #goldencareagent

Sentinel Underwriting Tip

Blood Thinners and Diabetes Diabetes combined with blood thinners can be a significant underwriting concern. Diabetes can damage blood vessels increasing the chance of forming a blood clot. Clots can be dangerous especially if they form in areas where the inner linings of blood vessels have been damaged. Blood clots can lead to heart attack, stroke and other serious issues. Blood thinners can help reduce this risk. “Warnings About Medicare’s future continue to be ignored,” by Kristin Walter, McKnight’s LTC News

“The Government Accountability Office has released its 2017 ‘High Risk List,’ which identifies federal agencies and programs vulnerable to fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement. The list is published every two years at the start of a new Congress, raising the alarm about areas that greatly need attention and redirection. First designated as ‘high risk’ back in 1990, Medicare has made the GAO list every year since due to ‘its size, complexity, and susceptibility to mismanagement and improper payments.’” LTC Comment (from Stephen A. Moses, President, Center for Long-Term Care Reform): This is a very good, short update on the tragic

Sentinel Underwriting Tip

MIB and Underwriting Tip What is MIB? MIB is a membership organization that provides underwriting information and services to life and health insurers. It is a way for companies to communicate industry wide to reduce fraud which contributes to the equitable pricing of insurance products. What MIB is not? MIB is not a clearing house of health data from doctor offices. MIB does not share whether an application was declined. Underwriting with MIB Underwriters use MIB data for informational purposes only. Underwriters
