ATTENTION FLORIDA AGENTS: Optional HHC Rider Now Available

Effective June 1, 2021, Mutual of Omaha implemented pricing and benefit changes in four additional states (DC, FL, ND & SD). In Florida, however, one additional change was made to enhance the product offering.

MutualCare Solutions Software SnapshotWhen the MutualCare® Solutions LTCi products were launched in 2013, the Florida State Department of Insurance approved a state-specific version which did not allow the optional Waiver of Elimination Period for Home Health Care rider to be offered.

Exciting News!
Mutual of Omaha is pleased to announce that, as of June 1, 2021, Florida MutualCare® Solutions LTCi policies can now be sold including this optional rider!

How The Rider Works:
The Waiver of Elimination Period for Home Health Care rider allows policyholders to begin receiving benefits for home health care services immediately with no elimination period to satisfy. Days in which the insured receives home health care benefits may be used to satisfy the elimination period for assisted living and nursing home care.

GoldenCare’s thoughts:
Through the progression of care, Home Care benefits are often utilized first. Since the Cash Benefit has its own zero-day elimination period, adding the Waiver of Elimination Period for Home Health Care rider allows for a seamless transition from receiving Cash to receiving reimbursed HHC benefits (for access to larger benefit). Plus, as soon as the reimbursed HHC benefits start, the calendar day facility elimination period automatically begins to be satisfied as well.

Remember to update your MutualCare Solutions quoting software and use the recently-revised application, forms and brochure (available through normal channels).
