Yet, nearly 7 out of every 10 working Americans say they can’t make it a month without a paycheck before feeling major financial strains.
Here are questions you can ask to start the income protection conversations:
- If you become sick or injured and unable to work, who’ll pay your expenses?
- Do you have enough savings to withstand being out of work for more than a month?
- Does your spouse have disability insurance coverage?
- What would you say your monthly costs are for everyday living expenses like groceries, car payment, mortgage/rent, phone/internet service, etc.?
