Mutual has several announcements in this issue.   Pennsylvania approves lower inflation rates for Partnership effective March 1, 2017.

Priority Income Protection will be approved on March 1st to sell in CT, DC, DE, MT, ND and SD.   Additionally, the maximum monthly benefit amount will be increased from $2,000 to $4,000.

Also, new! EchoSign Electronic Signature process is coming March 1st in order to expedite the processing of authorization!

United Security Assurance has provided a list of LTCi statistics to share with your clients.   The statistics include:

  • 44% of men will need LTCi
  • 58% of women will need LTCi
  • 22% of men will need LTC for more than one year in a nursing home
  • 36% of women will need LTC for more than one year in a nursing home
  • 68% of caregivers are women
  • 65% of older adults rely exclusively for their LTC needs from friends and family
