Advanced Markets: More Satisfied Customers

More Satisfied Customers

We all know that success in our business depends on creating satisfied customers who come back to you for more products and services, and also refer new customers to you. Wouldn’t it be nice if you had some clear advice…maybe even some assistance…on how to create those satisfied customers?

Well, an unexpected source may have given you an opportunity. Although life insurance ownership has declined over the last 30 years, and customer satisfaction tends to decline once the policy is delivered, a recent study from J.D. Power and Associates shows that all of that may be changing. Interest in life insurance grew substantially with the Covid-19 pandemic. According to Robert Lajdziak, senior consultant of insurance intelligence at J.D. Power, “With the spotlight on the industry now shining brighter than ever, insurers that differentiate with simple touch points, close alignment with customer goals and clear communications are well-suited to seize the moment to build significant lifetime value.”

Among insurance carriers, Mutual of Omaha is doing its part. The J.D. Power survey found that we were in the top five US life insurance companies for customer satisfaction. That’s helpful, but how can you as an individual producer increase your customers’ satisfaction?

It may be as simple as staying in touch. The study also found that the agent or advisor relationship is critical to making customers happy. Also, their satisfaction improved substantially when they received at least one communication from their life insurance provider during the past 12 months. Unfortunately, only 53% of respondents said they remember getting such a communication.

You can make a big difference by staying in touch with your customers. It may be as simple as a phone call from time to time, or an annual review. Or you may want to suggest new ideas to existing clients by using one of our Advanced Markets client-approved presentations. These presentations come complete with invitations and social media posts to help you get the word out. We have several topics:

  1. Minimizing Taxes in Retirement
  2. The Living Benefit Buy-Sell

Regular communication with your customers can create even more satisfied customers for your business. Call us in Advanced Markets if we can help
