LTC Comment, Stephen A. Moses, President, Center for Long-Term Care Reform:

Bottom line: more millionaires on Medicaid. The maximum home equity exemption jumped from $906,000 in 2021 to $955,000 in 2022. Sometimes inflation is as kind to wealthy Medicaid LTC applicants as it is brutal to taxpayers. The Community Spouse Resource Allowance (CSRA) that started at $60,000 when the Medicare Catastrophic Coverage Act passed in 1988 will rise to $137,400 for 2022. Likewise, the Maximum Monthly Maintenance Needs Allowance will be $3,435.00, up from $1,500 originally.
