Change to Virginia Delivery Receipt Process
We wanted to inform you about a recent change to the delivery receipt process in Virginia:  If the delivery receipt is not returned within 30 days, a letter, a copy of the delivery receipt and a postage paid envelope will be sent directly to the customer requesting the delivery receipt be signed and returned to United of Omaha. This process applies to policies that were originally sent directly to the client via the United States Postal Service and policies originally mailed to the agent.
 
States Requiring Delivery Receipts
As a reminder, a signed delivery receipt is required for all:

• Life insurance policies issued in Louisiana, South Dakota, West Virginia, California and Virginia
• Accidental Death (AD) policies issued in Louisiana, South Dakota and West Virginia

The delivery receipt is included within the policy package and must be signed and returned to the home office within the 30 day delivery period. If the policy was mailed to the agent and we do not receive a delivery receipt within 30 days, we will automatically send a policy and a delivery receipt directly to the customer.
