The need for Long-Term Care may be due to:
- Inability to perform at least two of the six “Activities of Daily Living” (ADL)
- ADL= this term refers to a set of common, everyday tasks, performance of which is required for personal self-care and independent living
- Includes: Eating, Bathing, Dressing, Transferring, Toileting and Continence
- ADL= this term refers to a set of common, everyday tasks, performance of which is required for personal self-care and independent living
- Memory loss, confusion, or disorientation, sometimes called cognitive impairment
- Chronic condition or illness
- Disability caused by an accident or illness
- Recovering from an acute condition, such as a stroke or an accident
