Rate Refresh Partner Allowance Guidelines

Mutual of Omaha is allowing a 6-month period for policyholders to receive the “Partner – Both Issued” allowance when partners are issued policies with two different rates (one issued pre rate refresh, one issued post rate refresh). The rule will only apply if the second partner’s policy is issued within 6 months of the rate refresh effective date. Below are scenarios based on a state with a rate refresh implementation date of September 1, 2020 and a six-month deadline of March 1, 2021. Partner A is issued a policy with old rates. LTC Age Restrictions Now Lifted in All States

LTC Age Restrictions Now Lifted in All States Mutual of Omaha will begin accepting LTC applications for clients age 65 and over in California, Oregon and Washington effective immediately, August 24, 2020. Reminder: Underwriters will initiate scheduling the face-to-face assessments for LTC applicants age 65 and over after medical records have been received, reviewed and considered favorable for insurability. This new process ensures we are only requesting face-to-face assessments on individuals who are indeed insurable, subject to the completed assessment. Restrictions are now lifted for all 50 states. Revised version of Consumer Underwriting Brochure Through the end of the year, Thrivent will be revising their consumer marketing pieces to align with their re-branding initiative. The first piece to be revised is “Your Underwriting Process” (#34902). This piece will be replacing the old “What to Expect” brochure (#27881).
