Quote:

“The Supreme Court on Thursday blocked the Biden administration’s vaccination-and-testing rule for large businesses but upheld a separate federal COVID-19 vaccination mandate geared toward healthcare workers. The High Court ruled 6-3 against the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s employer mandate, blocking it from going into effect while the case is reviewed in the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. … The Court ruled 5-4 to keep the CMS vaccination mandate for healthcare workers, which affects some 17 million healthcare workers at more than 77,000 providers, including nursing homes but not assisted living communities.”

LTC Comment, Stephen A. Moses, President, Center for Long-Term Care Reform:

As employers of 100+ breathed a sigh of relief all across the country, health care companies, including nursing homes, have their feet to the fire more than ever. Best to hope you don’t need Medicaid-financed long-term care any time soon and that you obtained private LTC insurance long ago.
