Many New And Renewal License Applicants Are Having Applications Rejected For Failure To Provide Proof Of Citizenship
The Beason-Hammon Act is requiring that you provide proof of citizenship for all initial and renewal licenses to the State of Alabama Department of Insurance. You may submit this information via our website www.aldoi.gov. Click on Proof of Citizenship under Quick Links and upload 1 of the 16 different identifiers listed.
For a list of valid identifies, click here.
BE AWARE that after an application is submitted for initial licensing or a renewal application is processed online you will only have 10 Business Days to submit proof of citizenship after which time your application will be rejected and you will have to go back online and re-apply with new fees.
Existing Producers/Adjusters/Title Agents DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT until their renewal period to submit the Proof of Citizenship, they can go online and submit it any time at www.aldoi.gov, click on Proof of Citizenship and then under renewal upload. Please follow the directions carefully.
Initial Applicants should upload the Proof of Citizenship immediately after submitting your online application. Go to www.aldoi.gov and under Quick Links click on Proof of Citizenship and the Initial Upload and follow the directions carefully. Remember to select what type of license you are submitting the Proof of Citizenship for (i.e. Producer, Adjuster, Title etc…).
NOTE: This requirement applies to both Alabama Resident and Non-Resident licenses.
