Important Updates to the SureBridge Branded POS tool

SureBridge Point of Sale (POS) Tool Updates Beginning Sept. 16

With the launch of the new HospitalWise Guaranteed Issue benefit option, a new The Chesapeake Life Insurance Company application will be implemented in the SureBridge branded POS Tool for the states of AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NH, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, WA, WI. More states are coming soon!

Updates on the application include:

  • Medicare question no longer required
The Medicare question will no longer be required. However, if applicants are eligible for Medicare, please ensure they view and/or download the Important Notice to Persons on Medicare. The link to the Medicare notice is available on the “Eligibility and Underwriting” User Interface (UI) page when completing the application.
  • New eligibility question for accident plans
A new eligibility question has been added for the SureBridge branded accident plans. Applicants with existing accident-only insurance that will remain in force through another carrier are not eligible for coverage under our designated accident plans (Accident Companion, Accident Direct, Critical Accident Direct, and/or ProtectFit Plus).

For the above-mentioned states:

  • Applications started prior to September 16 will be processed based on the current/old application; and those including HospitalWise will be processed under the Simplified Issue underwriting rules.
  • Applications started on September 16 and after will be processed based on the new application; and those including HospitalWise will follow the new underwriting rules, which includes the new guaranteed issue options.
  • Note: If HospitalWise is included on the application, List Bill will not be an available billing option at this time.

Updates to the SureBridge Point of Sale tool will occur around 9pm CST Thursday, Sept. 15 and could cause the system to be temporarily unavailable. Please plan accordingly.

Important Reminder for all states:

Applications started, but not completed/submitted, are good for up to 30-days from the application start date. Applications need all required signatures to be completed. An email reminder will be generated to the applicant 4 days prior to the expiration/void date. If the application is not completed/submitted before the end of the 30-day period, another email will be generated to the applicant to confirm the application has been expired/voided.
