REMINDER: Partnership Certification and 4-Hour Refresher
 
For all LTCi agents who took their initial 8-Hour Partnership Certification prior to February 2014:
 
Producer requirements for training continuation states:
"A four-hour refresher course must be completed every 2 years from the date the initial training was completed."
 
Please be sure you have completed the necessary ongoing training before submitting new long-term care business.

March Holiday Solicitation Bans
 
Please be aware of the holiday telephone solicitation bans in the following states for the month of February.

  • On Friday, March 25, 2016: Louisiana prohibits unsolicited marketing calls to residents in observance of Good Friday
  • On Sunday, March 27, 2016: Louisiana prohibits unsolicited marketing calls to residents in observance of Easter, however, state law already prohibits telephone solicitation on Sundays

NOTE:  the application signature feature has been updated on the iPad/iPhone app. If you already have the app and have automatic updates, you don't need to do anything. If you do not have automatic updates, you'll need to download the mobile app again from the Apple store.  

 

 

Update: Simplicity ii Rate Increase Action In OH
 
As you are aware, MedAmerica is currently in the process of raising rates on the Simplicity ii product line. This rate action does not affect CareDirections Simplicity®. This notice is to inform agents that they have received rate approval from Ohio, and are implementing the rate increase activity in this state. This is the only notification agents will receive regarding this rate action.
 
MedAmerica will mail notification of the rate increase to affected insureds on March 4, 2016. The new premium amount will be effective as of the insured's next billing date, following the state required notification timeframe.
 


Update: CareDirections Simplicity® Rate Increase Action Implementation In DC & DC Trust (NJ)
 
As you are aware, MedAmerica is currently in the process of raising rates on the CareDirections Simplicity® product line. This rate action does not affect Simplicity ii. This notice is to inform agents that they have received rate approval from DC and DC Trust (NJ), and are implementing the rate increase activity in those states. This is the only notification agents will receive regarding this rate action.

West Virginia Update
West Virginia Medicare Supplement applications will now be accepted when signed greater than 30 days prior to a client's Medicare eligibility date.
 
April Rate Adjustments in Oklahoma and Mississippi
Rate adjustments effective April 1, 2016 on Modernized in-force only for United Oklahoma and 1990 Standardized Mutual Mississippi.
 
Rate Adjustments in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Indiana
April rate adjustments on Omaha Insurance Company 2010 Modernized in Pennsylvania and United 1990 Standardized in Indiana; and May rate adjustment for United World Maryland.
