Simplified compensation structure Your compensation is important to us. We listened to you and heard that you wanted a simplified compensation structure, making it easier for you to understand how you will be paid. Beginning January 1, 2021, instead of eight levels of age bands, there are now two levels: Issue ages 40-69 Issue ages 70-79 Items not changing include: renewals are still based on the premium for the base policy and any Inflation Protection Rider, and half of the regular first-year compensation rate is applicable to the portion of premium for a Return of Premium Rider or the 10-Year

EssentialLTC E-Application Coming Soon In Florida

E-Application to be available in Florida Effective January 22 We are pleased to announce the availability of E-APP for EssentialLTC Florida applicants effective January 22, 2021. The E-APP process allows the agent to submit EssentialLTC applications electronically after logging into the Agent Resource Center, as well as to obtain both applicant and agent signatures electronically. With this implementation, the E-APP process can now be utilized in all states where EssentialLTC is available. Please see the EssentialLTC State Variation for additional information relating to State Variations, noting that this will be revised on January 22, 2022 to reflect this change. E-APP

2021 COLA adjustments for Long Term Care insurance premiums The Internal Revenue Service issued Rev. Proc. 2020-45 providing the 2021 cost of living adjustments (COLAs) for certain items under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), including “for eligible long term care premiums.” The maximum deduction that an individual who itemizes deductions may take for qualified long term care insurance premiums is set under IRC §213(d) and adjusted annual for increases in the medical care cost component of the consumer price index. COVID-19 and underwriting guidelines We reevaluated and adjusted our underwriting guidelines for applicants who have had a negative COVID-19 test. The current guidelines are: If a test is taken: There will be no waiting period for negative testing scenarios such as work, travel, visiting family or testing in advance of an elective surgery (colonoscopy, etc.). There will be a one month waiting period for a negative test result on an applicant with symptoms or direct exposure to another person who was positive. A positive test is a 6 month waiting period after a full recovery to assess any residuals. These
