Change to Minnesota Assignments

Good News! Recently, the Minnesota Department of Human Services updated their Medicaid Eligibility Policy Manual. These updates bring Minnesota in line with the industry standard of allowing policy proceeds to be irrevocably assigned to a funeral provider. Accordingly, it is no longer required that the beneficiary of Minnesota policies reads “Any funeral home as its interests may appear” in order for the policy to be Medicaid exempt.
