Manhattan Life Delivers Again in New Jersey
We are pleased to announce that effecitve July 1, 2017, Manhattan Life is implementing a 3% rate decrease on Medicare Supplement Plans G and N in New Jersey. Plans A and C will experience an 8% increase with no increase for Plan F. The effective date for these rate adjustments is any application submitted with a requested effective date of July 1, 2017 or later.
Plus, a 7% Household Discount has been added in New Jersey!
HHD will be available to applicants requesting an effective date of 7/1/2017, or later.
In addition to the above, applicants applying for the discount must meet the following criteria:
- The household resident and/or spouse must have or be in the process of applying for a MLIC policy and
- The applicant must be married and residing with their spouse or
- The applicant must have been residing for the last 12 months with someone who is at least age 60 or older
Please note, existing policyholders must reapply for coverage in order to be considered for the discount, and they may not reapply for the same plan. See the Agent Guide for complete details regarding the household discount.
Please refer to the points below to determine which rates should be applied for new applications:
- All Medicare Supplement applications signed before June 15, 2017 will receive the current 8-1-16 rates.
- Any Medicare Supplement application signed on or after June 15, 2017 requesting an effective date before July 1, 2017 will receive the current 8-1-16 rates.
- Any Medicare Supplement application signed on or after June 15, 2017 requesting an effective date of July 1, 2017 or later, will receive the new 7-1-17 rates.
- Any Medicare Supplement application re-dated on or after June 15, 2017 will receive the new 7-1-17 rates.
